We are looking for a Plating Process Engineer to join our Printed
Electronics R&D team in Rochester, NY.

This is a process engineering and process development position in
an R&D/Pilot plating operation, reporting to the Printed
Electronics R&D Director. This clean-room process uses
production-scale, roll-to-roll electroless plating in support of
prototype manufacturing of patterned conductive films for printed
electronics applications. The scope of this position includes full
ownership and oversight of the plating process, and execution of
designed experiments for both product and process improvements.
Depending on customer or market requirements, the position may
require oversight of hardware and software improvements to the
plating lines. Leadership of process-related capital projects may
also be required.
- Provide daily decision-making and oversight of all aspects of
- Work directly with the Operations Manager to schedule
utilization of plating process staff and equipment.
- Serve as the primary contact with chemistry suppliers,
equipment vendors, local fabrication shops, and Kodak's Analytical
and Health & Safety teams.
- Serve on Manufacturing and Operations teams addressing current
product engineering and design-for-manufacturability
- Serve on New Product Introduction teams addressing product
opportunities requiring the verification of process capability
versus customer requirements.
- Working knowledge of electroless plating theory and practice is
- Proven track record of managing a chemical operation including
chemical materials handling, dosing strategies, chemical analysis
methods, and process control software.
- Ability to translate customer requirements to necessary process
- Ability to work in a flexible R&D/Pilot operation, with
experience in volume manufacturing and ability to support rapid
ramp-up from pilot scale to production.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement
through disciplined management-of-change.
- Experience in capital project management is desired.
Minimum Experience Level
- 3 to 6 years
- Minimum B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering, or related
engineering discipline with experience in process engineering.
