Lead, Thermal Design and Analysis Engineer Description: Lead, Thermal Design and Analysis Engineer Job Code: SIS20180###-####7 Job Location: Rochester, NY Job Description: This position is responsible for the thermal management of large ground and space-based electro-optical imaging systems. This position would require the candidate to be part of a team as well as be an individual contributor. The candidate will define thermal design and analysis tasks to meet thermal performance requirements. The candidate will create thermal models of complex components and assemblies to support design of the thermal control system. The candidate will interpret, document, and present analysis results to both internal and external customers. The candidate will work with various disciplines to define and implement thermal hardware solutions. The candidate will develop test plans, implement a test program, and analyze test results. Participates at designated level on the cost/schedule/technical aspects of engineering projects and programs within the guidelines set forth by management and/or the customer. Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: A degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred 6+ years relevant experience in thermal design, testing, analysis or equivalent Experience with Thermal analysis packages (eg Thermal Desktop, Sinda) Experience applying thermal analysis to thermal hardware design Experience in aerospace payload systems Experience with active and passive thermal control systems Thermal testing experience, preferably in vacuum Experience in radiation heat transfer using Thermal Desktop, NEVADA, or equivalent Structural, dynamic and/or CFD analysis experience Please be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain Security clearances.
