Senior Reliability Engineer Description: Senior Reliability Engineer Job Code: SIS20181###-####7 Job Location: Rochester, NY Job Description: Provide reliability expertise for mission critical satellite payloads including: reliability planning, reliability modeling/prediction calculations, Failure Modes Criticality and Effects Analyses (FMECA), Electrical Stress Derating, Limited Life and RMA analysis Define and verify reliability allocations, and specifications for sensor and digital processing space systems. Interfacing and interaction with all pertinent engineering groups, suppliers and customers to ensure the required reliability is compliant. Drive design changes to achieve compliance when necessary. Analyze test failures and implement corrective actions (FRACAS). Participate and/or present reliability analyses and failure info to program management and customers, including at design reviews. Provide reliability estimates and technical plans for program planning and proposals. Qualifications: Bachelor degree and 6+ years relevant experience, or equivalent Preferred Additional Skills: Prior demonstrated space or aerospace experience with reliability modeling/predictions, failure modes effects analysis, root cause analysis and reliability planning, primarily with sensor and/or digital processing systems Experience with MIL-HDBK-217F, MIL-STD-1629A and MIL-HDBK-1547A Experience with WQS/Relex modeling Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance MS or PhD preferred 6 years experience in reliability 6 years of experience in sensor or digital processing electrical systems reliability Current government clearance Aerospace or Defense/Government program experience Proficient with predictions, FMECA, ESA, RMA and FTA analysis Building of component level failure rate models Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision Ability to work cooperatively with Design, Parts and Test Engineering functions FRACAS experience ASQ certification Experience with reliability demonstration testing, thermal cycling, burn-in and vibration Knowledge of mechanical reliability concepts and equations Project management skills Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously during development and production stages Leadership skills able to lead small teams Good verbal and writing skills, ability to communicate at a high level Security Clearance: Please be aware that many of our positions require a security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
