sector is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team of
qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become
part of Northrop Grumman's Amherst Systems in Buffalo, New York; an
organization focused on development and production of
state-of-the-art Simulation Systems solutions. Our Mission Systems
team is a leading innovator, developer, manufacturer, integrator,
and supporter of a variety of advanced electronics for national
security and non-defense applications. The qualified applicant will
become part of Northrop Grumman’s Supplier Performance Management
department here in Amherst, NY. The selected candidate will work in
a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact
with Global Supply Chain professionals, other engineering
disciplines, and our suppliers. What you get to do: • Proactively
manage Supplier Quality risks, driving down supplier escapes. •
Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control
systems. • Assures supplier process and product quality, including
contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. • Perform
Specification/Drawing Compliance Reviews, First Article Inspections
and support Receiving Inspection on various categories of hardware
such as Printed Wiring Boards (PWB), Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA),
cables and connectors, microelectronics, electro-mechanical
systems, and mechanical components & assemblies. • Interfaces
directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and
capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing
processes and procedures. • Conducts product and process
verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and
drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality
issues. • Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list
and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether
suppliers should remain on the approved list. • Manages supplier
requests for waivers, deviations, and the discrepancy reporting
process. • Keeps management informed of supplier performance,
quality status, and risks. Coordinates and oversees the
implementation of the Supplier Quality plan throughout all program
phases. • Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification,
and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and
as new procurements are required on existing programs. • Manages
implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier
approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier
classification designation (Critical, Key, and Standard),
development and execution of risk assessments and mitigation plans,
and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs. •
Travel to the Supplier as needed to support the program. Basic
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and minimum of 2
years of experience in quality and/or supply chain Willing to
travel up to 25% Preferred Qualifications: Experience facilitating
Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Modes and Effects
Analysis (FMEA) activities. Defense industry experience, including
interfacing with suppliers. Experience in a quality, supplier
quality role. SAP Business System experience. Experience with ISO
9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.
Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00 The above
salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop
Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary
offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and
the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market
conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible
for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance
coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid
holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal
