Job Description:
Run trials on Terphane's production lines, third party
production or pilot lines, as well as on customer's machinery in
order to develop new products, applications and market according to
trial plans defined by him/herself.
Develop new products/processes for
new and existing customersPerform lab testing in order to generate
data supporting new products, applications and marketsIdentify and
implement process changes to improve line productivity, product
quality, and the line flexibility to support the business increase
of Value-Added productsProvide technical support to sales for new
and existing productsRun trials and testing for qualification of
new raw materials and suppliers to improve cost and/or strategic
positioningAPPLICATION/MARKET DEVELOPMENT (10%)
Work with R&D team to develop new
applications and markets in order to increase value added
salesProvide Sales with technical support for the introduction and
qualification of new applications and scale-up until reach normal
sales routinePerform lab testing for all new applications and
markets, comparing existing products with competitor's ones
PRODUCT/PROCESS DEVELOPMENT (80%)
Work with R&D Director and
coordinators to develop new products that offer high margin/growth
potentialInvestigate the technical and commercial feasibility of
new product ideas, select raw materials and equipment and determine
process requirements.Develop process conditions and specify new
equipment and equipment modifications to produce the new products
in a safe, cost-effective manner.Develop product specifications and
sales literature for new products. MSDS, technical data sheets and
QC testing procedures.Adapt process to eventual product transfers
from Brazil to Bloomfield, or from Bloomfield to BrazilSALES
TECHNICAL SUPPORT (10%)
Provide technical support to Sales
for existing products in new and existing applications. - Requires
customer visits to discuss product performance and conformity,
including non-conformities or claims.Provide Sales and customers
with reports and critical analysis of film's analytical results
whenever needed (either for claims reason(s) or
qualification).EDUCATION:Bachelor Degree in science or engineering
plus 2+ years of experience in the science or engineering
disciplines and/or an equivalent combination of education and
