Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
Day to Day Operations:* Lead, perform, and document hazard
identification and control analysis of manufacturing activities,
including work processes, new or modification of equipment and
materials.* Translate regulatory and corporate safety requirements
to practical implementation plans or work processes.* Measure and
conduct trend analysis of selected safety key performance
indicators.* Collaborate with plant representatives to ensure
effective and efficient execution of key safety programs - listed
below as examples:1. Hazard Communication2. Lock-out/Tag-out3.
Confined Space Entry4. Hot Work Permitting5. Fall Protection6.
Powered Industrial Truck7. Emergency Preparedness8. Electrical
Safety9. Hearing Conservation10. Respirator Protection* Lead and/or
conduct assigned incident investigations using various root cause
analysis methodologies.* Track all safety preventive and corrective
actions to completion.* Organize and prepare periodic safety
reviews with plant and senior management.
Regulatory Compliance:* Monitor changes in Health and Safety
regulations, conduct impact assessment, and establish appropriate
change management plan.* Conduct compliance evaluation activities
such as routine inspections, periodic audits, and structured
management reviews.
Safety Management System:* Work with senior manager(s) to identify,
select, and implement a safety management model, focusing on
achieving effective and efficient execution of floor-level safety
programs at the same time aligning the safety management system to
meet the requirements of recognized standards such as OSHA
Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and ISO 45001.* Provide direct
support to develop, implement, and continually improve
Environmental, Health, and Safety programs for Manufacturing
organizations.* Unify and standardize applicable safety processes
and procedures across the manufacturing enterprise including US and
non-US facilities.
Training:* Develop and implement a training program that identifies
training requirements, delivers training contents, assessment
training effectiveness, and evaluate training compliance.* Develop
selected training contents.* Deliver selected trainings to
stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:* Bachelor of Science degree in a technical
discipline.* Completed or working toward the 10 and 30 hours OSHA
General Industry certifications.* Ability to obtain Certified
Safety Professional (CSP).* Floor-level working experience in
manufacturing operations with complex workflows and integrated
automation systems desirable.* Working experience in a unionized
environment desirable.* Ability to be a solution provider.* Ability
to research, benchmark, interpret, and translate regulatory
framework to "what, when, and how" manufacturing floor practices.*
Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively across all
levels of various manufacturing operations, including non-US
locations.* Ability to perform statistical trend analysis.* Working
proficiency in various software applications such as MS Office
suites.* Be able to use multiple types of Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) such as eyes and head protection, hearing
protection, safety footwear, and various respirator types.
