We embrace the qualities that make each of our team members unique and develop each other's skillsets so that together we can be stronger than the sum of our parts Job Description The Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of equipment used within the site for manufacturing. This position is responsible for the design and implementation of manufacturing processes and operational excellence via efficient plant design and function. Ensures continuous improvement in process, cost, quality and production utilizing lean and Six Sigma tools. Manages all engineering projects and resolves engineering / processing issues . Responsibilities

  • Leadership of the Engineering Team. Personnel coaching and creation of working processes to maximize the success of the team.
  • Works with the site team and operators to establish stable and repeatable manufacturing processes. Solves real time problems in processing. Implements workable solutions in both the short and long term so failure modes are effectively understood and eliminated
  • Capital Project planning, research, justification, execution and reporting utilizing the annual budget. As well as Departmental expenses management to budget
  • Training and development of the Engineering team and site-wide knowledge and capabilities.
  • Must be able to identify opportunities for cost reduction and increased efficiency and seeking and implementing innovative methods to optimize process throughput and reduce costs.
  • Ability to effectively define problems and through data analysis propose workable solutions to minimize defects and waste. Utilization of belts and have the ability to define and work on data driven six sigma type projects.
  • Lead Product Development efforts for Medical Device market.
  • Working with R&D and manufacturing teams, management of new product industrialization and control procedures, as well as ensuring work is completed in the required time frame and budget requirements.
  • Implementation of annual new capital investment program for justification of new equipment. Benchmarks industry technologies and proposes plans to remain up to date. Ensures capital project completion from justification through selection, installation and personnel training.
  • Highly competent in film liquid coating and laminating processes including coating methodologies such as gravure and slot dies. This includes finishing through drying ovens as well as tension controls that will produce consistently good product rolls
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple activities simultaneously and successfully function in a cross functional manufacturing environment
  • Full responsibility of departmental expense budget. Candidate must have the ability to effectively manage department employees and guide them through projects that add value to the organization Qualifications
    • Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience, preferably including experience in manufacturing
    • Product Development process management experience preferred
    • Medical device industry background a plus
    • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
    • Ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
    • Excellent analytical skills
    • Strong verbal and written skills
    • Able to work in a team environment and fulfilling objectives with minimum direct supervision pm21
