Our interactive voice solutions handle calls from millions of consumers a day across a wide variety of telephony applications.Data Engineer Job Brief:We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer able to dive-in to understand, optimize, and extend our complex data warehouse and reporting infrastructure. Our SAAS-based platform has been the recent focus of significant feature enhancement, and the data we generate continues to grow in size, complexity, and importance to our day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate would eventually grow towards helping us redefine how performance data drives our business decisions. If you're a Data Engineer who is inspired by the capability for data to drive nearly every aspect of a product lifecycle; from real-time client dashboarding, system performance and optimization feedback loops, to billing, roadmap definition, and future sales opportunities, we'd like to talk to you.Your responsibilities in this role, include:* Understand the data systems and pipelines we've built.* Develop and maintain both existing and new datasets, data systems, and reports; align them with product initiatives and performance goals.* Collect, analyze, and organize raw data from different distributed sources into new datasets* Conduct complex data analysis (create/modify complex queries) and create reports for data consumers * Optimize datasets and queries to improve response time* Find ways to Improve data quality and reliability* Collaborate with our Performance Management team, as well as System architects, and Software developers on all data initiatives. * Participate in the Agile SCRUM development process, including story elaboration, pointing, and planning* Track and proactively communicate progress to the Director of Development and senior leadership team.* Act as a key contributor to our innovative, dynamic and highly focused development team.Required Skills/Background* BS Degree in Computer Science or related field; Data Engineering certification is a plus* Experience: Mid-level (2-6 years of Previous experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role)* Highly skilled in Java Programming* Hands-on experience (working knowledge) with SQL databases and data queries.* Strong familiarity with Linux-based systems (including scripting)* Practical expertise in the use of multi-tier systems architecture (client, servlet, database) with highly distributed software components.* A quick learner who's not afraid to discover how software works by reviewing code and asking questions* Comfortable working in pre-existing code base; understanding, refactoring, extending as necessary* Strong sense of end-to-end solution ownership * Ability to manage multiple priorities amongst tight deadlines* Strong communication skills; both verbal and written* Working knowledge of the following languages/practices/formats is highly desired:* Experienced in Database and Datastore technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Mongo, Redis, PostGres)* Scripting languages such as Python, PERL, etc* XML and JSON* API development (RESTful)* Familiarity with source control (Git/CVS/SVN), software builds and release packaging.* Understanding of Agile SCRUM, Continuous Integration and Deployment MethodologiesPowered by JazzHRln7Pbqn0cg
