and more. Job Summary: The Utilities Maintenance Lead position will
manage the everyday operations and upkeep of the equipment and the
building(s) of the Wastewater Plant. This person will be engaged in
planning and implementing preventive maintenance, projects, and
regulatory and safety issues within and around the Wastewater
Plant. As a Lead, you will work under the mentorship and leadership
of the shift Maintenance Supervisor, and Utilities/Maintenance
leadership to perform the tasks, and to learn the necessary skills
for successfully leading a team of techs. To develop the necessary
techniques and skills, internal and external training will be
required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Active involvement
and engagement in job related and applicable safety programs,
audits, and policies. Assist the shift supervisor in assigning
work, following up on assigned work, and ensuring the teams have
the necessary resources to perform job/project successfully. Joint
responsibility with the supervisor to provide excellent upkeep of
equipment & operations through professional maintenance and
continuous improvement activities. Work closely with the Technical
Training Department for SOP creations, and trainings for
Utilities/Maintenance Techs. Support employees by coaching,
mentoring, and assisting them with resolving issues and bottleneck
concerns in order to increase productivity and job capabilities.
Ensure compliance with all legal requirements concerning wastewater
treatment plant of a Dairy Facility. This includes environmental
and safety requirements. Support GMP by maintaining an organized,
clean, and safe working environment. Ensure effective communication
between shifts and other departments. Other duties as assigned by
the Maintenance Supervisor. Other duties as assigned by the
Utilities/Maintenance Manager. Education and Experience: GED or
High School Diploma with at least 2 years of supervisory/leadership
experience with increased responsibilities • Prior Wastewater Plant
experience required. Prior Maintenance/Utilities experience
preferred. Utilities Lead for Wastewater Pre-treatment Plant must
have minimum of 3 years of wastewater experience; a NYS wastewater
operator license is preferred. Ability to perform daily sampling
and recording of data, testing, inventory, and ordering of
chemicals for wastewater plant operations. Ability to work with
vendors, as needed, to complete these tasks. Ability to operate and
maintain the wastewater facility within set limits, thresholds, and
restrictions per Facility discharge permit. Proficient in Microsoft
Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) Physical Requirements:
Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push,
pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to
50 pounds without assistance and moving objects exceeding 50 pounds
with reasonable accommodations. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
frequently. Ability to lift greater than 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to
perform job functions. Skills and Competencies: Collaborative &

environment. Ability to work independently. Ability to multi-task
