Full-time Description Popli Design Group (PDG) is seeking full-time Field Survey Technicians for our Penfield, NY office. This position will report to the Director of Land Surveying and will primarily be a field role, performing control, boundary and topographic surveys. Party Chief - Responsibilities include, but not limited to: In charge of field survey activities, including: Understanding and executing scope of work for each assignment Providing direction and oversight of instrument operator. Ensuring proper field techniques, and quality checks are taking place. Ensuring proper safety measures are being followed. Provide debriefing to senior office staff after completion of assignment. Field reconnaissance of property evidence. Thorough understanding of the operation of total stations and GNSS equipment. Instrument Operator - Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Assist Party Chief in survey field activities, including: Operation of total station and GNSS equipment Perform necessary collimation and maintenance of survey equipment. Field reconnaissance of property evidence. Work well in team environment and follow direction of the Party Chief. Assist with ensuring quality checks are implemented, and job safety procedures are being followed. Qualifications: Party Chief: 5 years’ experience in land surveying Instrument Operator: 3 years’ experience in land surveying A Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required. Bachelors or Associates degree in Land Surveying, a plus Experience with NYSDOT survey procedures, a plus Experience with Trimble robotics, a plus Experience with Leica GNSS, a plus Experience with terrestrial LiDAR, a plus Experience with sUAS, a plus Ability to perform physical work (i.e., strenuous walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying / loading equipment, etc.) About Popli Design Group (PDG) PDG is a well-established multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering firm that has been serving clients since 1982.
