PURPOSE:Responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation
of educational programming (both formal and informal) to meet the
learning needs of St. Ann's employees and families. Serves as a
clinical resources relative to theory and practice of patient care
management. Develops effective working relationships with
physicians and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary
team.Responsible for the development of educational programs to
support strategic growth, quality management, and performance
improvement at St. Ann's Community.JOB FUNCTIONS:To perform this

functions.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Collaborates with the Sr. VP of
HR, Chief Nursing Executive, and the Director of Quality to
prioritize educational activities.Through collaborative efforts,
determines annual goals and objectives for the Education
team.Provides input to the strategic planning process for Staff
Education consistent with the mission, vision, policies, goals and
objectives of St. Ann's.Provides leadership to the Nurse educators
in the development and implementation of educational objectives by
maintaining and sharing knowledge of best clinical
practicesFacilitates learning opportunities for staff.Supports and
guides nurse leaders on Rehabilitative Nursing Unit by providing
educational oversight of the unit, direction for best practices in
the nursing care of acute or medically complicated patients,
auditing of nursing practice, follow up remedial education, and
ongoing clinical competency evaluations of all nursing
staff.Facilitates collaboration between Staff Education and other
departments when participating in improvement projects, committee
work, educational initiatives, and the adoption of clinical
equipment, new processes, and implementation of electronic health
record tools.Develops and coordinates Nursing Orientation for
multiple levels of Nursing staff.Is an active and contributing
member of the interdisciplinary team striving for regulation and
compliance.Maintains working knowledge of regulations and assures
compliance with regulatory training and reporting.Maintains
personal professional growth in current nursing practices for
geriatric nursing practice and patient rehabilitation, and adjusts
current educational programs to reflect acquired
knowledge.Inorporates evidence based practice into organization
policies, procedures and educational programs and contributes to
policy and procedure development and QAPI projects.Responsible for
coordinating the NYS Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program
for St. Ann's to meet Federal laws, DOH and State Education
Department regulations.Assists Nursing Leadership in developing and
maintaining the Nursing Career Ladder for LPNs and CNAsDevelops,
coordinates, and supervises GPN training programDevelops,
coordinates, and supervises the placement of students in health
care professions (primarily nursing) from area schools and
colleges, ensuring they receive an appropriate organizational
orientation and follow up clinical experience.REQUIREMENTSMust have
valid/current profession license to practice in NYS as a Registered
Professional NurseB.S. in Nursing, Health Administration or related
fieldMinimum five years' nursing management experience.Must have
Quality Improvement experience.Three to five years' experience in
Long Term Care, Acute Care, Transitional Care, and Staff Education.
