Visiting Assistant Professor of Advertising and Media Management Position Title Visiting Assistant Professor of Advertising and Media Management Status Overview The department of Media and Communication, School of Arts and Sciences, St. John Fisher College, Rochester, New York, invites nominations and applications for a full time, Visiting Assistant Professor of Media Management. The candidate's research/teaching/professional experience should emphasize advertising, analytics and media management. Additional experience in journalism is welcome, although not required. Preference will be given to candidates whose work includes issues of race and gender within media studies. The Department of Media and Communication includes two majors: Media and Communication and Media Management. The department has approximately 90 undergraduates enrolled in the majors. The School of Arts and Sciences at St John Fisher College serves all undergraduate students through 33 programs, the Core general education curriculum, and pre-professional requirements. Additionally, the School provides all the liberal arts offerings required for NYSED baccalaureate degrees, 60 credits of liberal arts for the BS and 90 for the BA, thus providing liberal arts skills and critical perspectives across a wide range of disciplines. Led by its Basilian motto to "teach me goodness, discipline, and knowledge," St. John Fisher College is committed to cultivating a sense of belonging for all of its members. Job Responsibilities This assistant professor will teach a 4-4 load and contribute to the media management and media and communications curriculum as well as the Fisher Core. Additional requirements include:
- Support student development as an academic advisor and mentor.
- Contribute to a climate of equity and inclusion.
- Engage in professional development and industry relevant activities.
- Actively participate in department, school, college, and community-level service functions. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US and be available to start teaching in fall 2021.
