Corning Credit Union is seeking an experienced Senior Tax
Advisor/CPA to join our Tax Services Team. This is a full-time role
but offers the option for flexibility, including a part-time
schedule during the off-season, if desired.

Role Summary: The Senior Tax Advisor/CPA is responsible for
delivering comprehensive tax planning, consulting, and preparation
services to our Wealth Strategies members. This role also leads the
coordination and execution of tax season operations, ensuring that
every member receives a competent, accurate, and timely tax
return.
Essential Job Duties
Oversees the Credit Union's tax planning, consulting, and
preparation program ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality
operations.
Plans and organizes workflows, schedules, and operational processes
for each tax season.
Trains, coaches, and mentors seasonal tax personnel, providing
ongoing support and guidance.
Implements and tests tax software and related modules to ensure
operational readiness and efficiency.
Serves as the primary point of contact for all tax-related
inquiries from existing and prospective Tax Services clients and
Credit Union members.
Conducts regular reviews of all prepared tax returns to ensure
accuracy, compliance with internal deadlines, and adherence to
applicable regulations, accounting standards, and IRS
requirements.
Leads monthly Tax Services meetings with relevant personnel to
discuss operations, current priorities, and strategies for
maintaining high-quality operations and service deadlines.
Directly prepares all complex tax returns and returns for our
Wealth Strategies members.
Provides quarterly updates and reports to the Tax Services, LLC
Board of Directors.
Collaborates with our licensed Financial Advisors to deliver
year-round tax planning and consulting support for Wealth
Strategies members.
Builds lasting relationships with our members, helping them enhance
their overall financial health, tax strategies, and wealth
accumulation.
Conducts comprehensive post-season evaluations to assess successes
and identify opportunities for improvement in staffing, procedures,
operations, and fee structures.
Maintains all continuing education requirements necessary to uphold
CPA licensure and remain current with tax laws, regulations, and
best business practices.
Also assumes responsibility for other projects or duties as
required or assigned.
Required Competencies
Licensed CPA in New York State.
Strong knowledge of sound business operations with the ability to
advise clients accordingly.
In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws,
regulations, and compliance requirements.
Strong knowledge of payroll processing, bookkeeping practices, and
related financial procedures.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal
supervision.
Demonstrates a high degree of discretion, professionalism, and
confidentiality.
Strong initiative, organizational abilities, and effective time
management skills.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and
accuracy.
Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, demonstrating a
commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
Effectively manages stress and adapts to change in a fast-evolving
environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word,
Excel, and Outlook.
Education Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
preferred. Commensurate work experience will also be
considered.
Experience Requirements
7+ years of related experience required.
Communication Skills Requirements
The communication skills needed to effectively perform this
position include the ability to:
Read and comprehend moderate to advanced instructions,
correspondence, and memos.
Write moderate to advanced correspondence within professional
etiquette standards.
Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group
situations to members, clients, vendors, and other employees of the
Credit Union.
Physical Requirements

Regular use of computers is required.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close

Compensation - The Senior Tax Advisor/CPA base salary pay range is
$85,000 to $120,000 per year. Hiring rates are dependent on several
factors, including years of related work experience, education, and
geographic location. Corning Credit Union also offers an annual
bonus plan as part of its comprehensive compensation package.
