Accountant for our corporate accounting team.

Summary:
This position will focus on the accurate recording and reporting of
capital transactions, perform capital v. expense assessments,
continuously enhance current processes and policies, perform
monthly account reconciliations and other as required capital
reporting. This position will also require a high quality of
customer service support in the areas of accounting, compliance,
reporting and analysis to our operations teams. G is progressing
through a finance transformation and the role will also have
opportunities to develop new skills and have exposure to new
technologies. -

Responsibilities: - -
Participate in month-end close process and the preparation of
quarterly financial statements and financial statement schedules,
and annual disclosures associated with capital and deferred grants
- -
Create and post journal entries and prepare balance sheet
reconciliations associated with capital and deferred grants,
including but not limited to fixed asset additions, transfers,
retirements and depreciation/amortization -
Calculate accurately the gain or loss when fixed assets are sold or
exchanged, and ensure proper documentation and approval is provided

Effectively communicate and coordinate with other departments and
regional personnel for capital related matters, including project
statuses and associated fixed asset characteristics, and provide
capital support -
Review costs for appropriate capital versus operating expense
determination to ensure in scope with Company policy - -
Ensure proper capitalization of projects associated with government
grants -
Maintain accuracy of fixed asset listing Assist with capital
expenditure (Capex) analysis and other reporting analyses as
requested by Manager -
Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures
and internal controls -
Participate in internal and external audits in functional area

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing individual tasks and
common team tasks as needed -
Gain working knowledge of Dynamics GP Fixed Asset and Project
sub-modules -
Actively participate in initiatives to continuously improve the
Capital Teams ability to be an effective business partner through
process improvement and automation
Represent the function in special projects and assignments -
Perform other capital related duties, as required -

Qualifications: - -
Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 1-4 years related experience;
Master's degree and/or CPA a plus -
Experience with Robotics Process Automation (RPA) a plus -
Railroad experience not required, but is a plus -
Fixed asset/capital experience not required, but is a plus -
